Suffering Now Vs. Glory Then

In Romans 8:18 it says:

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

Later in the chapter it talks about the hope of being adopted as sons and the redemption of our bodies. I so look forward to that day and all the glory that will be revealed to us at that time. However I do find it difficult to not make my sufferings more than what they are. I tend to dwell on whats wrong and give it more attention than it deserves. This is wrong of me to do and this verse proves to be difficult for me to follow. So how can we as Christians fight this and strive to have an eternal view.

Know its okay to suffer

It is okay to suffer and be in pain and we most likely will be in pain or suffering. But it is not okay to make it more than it is or pity yourself because of it.

Prayer and repentance

Repent to God when you are making it more than what it is and pray to God that he will help you in this.

Remember

Take time to remember what God has done for you and what is being stored up for you in the future. The glory that will be revealed to us is so much greater than the pain and suffering we are going through now. This is nothing compared to the reward we will get when we join God in heaven.
